TABLES are pre-workshop discussion channels in Discord to seed the discussion. Find your assigned "table" (from the [[Table Assignments]]) and get the discussion started in your respective table channel. For example, if you are assigned to table 1, you would go to the #table-1 text channel under the TABLES section. You can also go to your participant page to view your "Table" attribute.

Welcome to the CSCW2022 Workshop on Synthesis Infrastructures!

Please follow these steps to get onboarded to the workshop!

1. Get set up on this Wiki

Steps:

More information about how we are using the Wiki is here.

2. Get set up on our Discord

Steps:

  • Join our workshop Discord with this link: https://discord.gg/TpPkYRr2kW
    • NOTE: If you don't already use Discord, you'll have to create an account. If you're asked for your birthday, you don't have to put in your real info if you don't want to!
  • Look for a message from Carl-bot in #front-door. Follow the bot's instructions to get appropriate roles on the Discord server.
  • If you like, customize your server nickname (think of this as your name badge for the workshop). Use "Edit Server Profile", or see further instructions here.

More information about how we are using the Discord is here.

3. Commence pre-workshop activities!

TABLES are pre-workshop discussion channels in Discord to seed the discussion. Find your assigned "table" (from the Table Assignments) and get the discussion started in your respective table channel. For example, if you are assigned to table 1, you would go to the #table-1 text channel under the TABLES section. You can also go to your participant page to view your "Table" attribute.

Screenshot of the "table 1" channel under the "TABLES" section on the workshop Discord.

NOTE:If you're not sure where to go, don't worry! Just ping the @Org-Team on the Discord and one of the organizers will help route you to the right "table". Also, we split up members from teams for more cross-pollination, but please feel free to come back together if you'd rather operate as a unit!

Steps:

  • Introduce yourself! A good way to do this is to draw from / edit your workshop blurb
  • Share a question, resource, idea or something else that you're thinking about in relation to the workshop's themes.
  • Engage with contributions from someone else.

Each table will have one or more organizers assigned to help facilitate the conversation.
