|Interest=In recent years, systems that track knowledge across the sciences, such as knowledge graphs and AI-driven publishing search engines, have grown in popularity. These systems help us find scientific facts but they can't tell us the functions of scientific knowledge or align incentives between researchers, funders and entrepreneurs. This means we can’t know the combinatorial potential of knowledge, associated constraints and thus we can’t effectively prioritise and fund applied research.

We believe that knowledge systems should not only facilitate knowledge mapping and search, but also point to the optimal use and application of this knowledge. However, we are missing the right knowledge, incentive and resource allocation systems for the optimal application of scientific knowledge. For this, we need new ways to connect what we know to what we would like to achieve as well as align incentives and manage information flows between researchers, funders and entrepreneurs.

Deep Science Ventures is a venture creator, combining available scientific knowledge and founder-type scientists into high-impact ventures, to build a future where both humanity and the planet thrive. We have developed Outcomes graph, a collaborative, hyperlinked knowledge base that logs market and scientific research findings and points to the optimum path towards applying science to societal outcomes. Our first build is based on Roam Research and Discourse graphs.
